Meet Rob Jacobson
After practicing law in Washington DC and Los Angles, Rob entered the entertainment industry as a member the original Fox Cable launch team, rising to VP of Sales. Rob moved to DirecTV as head of East Coast Programming where his innovations gave rise to sports packages such as Sunday Ticket, Mega March Madness and Ivy League Friday Nights.
After DirecTV, Rob launched and served as President & CEO of iN Demand Networks, then the world’s largest provider of transactional television. During Rob's time as CEO, iN Demand grew to over $1 billion in annual revenue and was profitable every year. While at iN Demand, Rob won multiple Emmy Awards and was responsible for conceiving of and completing the first-ever major studio video-on-demand agreements with Sony, Disney, Fox, Warner Bros., Universal and Paramount. As Vubiquity’s Chief Content Officer, Rob successfully transitioned the company from a domestic-only content provider to an international powerhouse. Rob spearheaded the company's growth through acquisitions, first of On Demand Group, then Film Flex and Juice to expand Vubiquity’s program offering to Europe, the Middle East, Africa, Israel, Latin American and Asia. Over the course of Rob’s tenure, Vubiquity’s content solutions, including FAST linear, AVOD, SVOD and TVOD have become globally available through partnerships with international consumer electronics platforms such as Hisense along with Telefonica, Liberty Global, Virgin Media and others.
