Alonzo has executive-produced two feature films: The Men in My Life, inspired by actress Rochelle Aytes (White Chicks, Mistresses, S.W.A.T.), and American Cherry, a coming-of-age drama starring Hart Denton (13 Reasons Why, Riverdale), which has won multiple regional film festivals and is available on streaming platforms. In 2021, Alonzo served as Creative Director for the Africa International Film Festival (AFRIFF) in Lagos, Nigeria, Africa’s largest film platform with over 4,000 submissions that year. Under her creative direction, AFRIFF expanded globally, featuring industry leaders from Amazon, Paramount, and MACRO, as well as a special conversation with Oscar-winning producer Brad Weston (12 Years a Slave, Queen & Slim). In 2022, AFRIFF was Africa’s premiere partner for Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, with Alonzo serving as a juror.
As CMO of NUVO/FUSE TV, Alonzo led the launch of Jennifer Lopez’s partnership and the go-to-market strategy that positioned NUVO for FUSE TV’s acquisition. She has advised Fortune 500 brands, including The Nielsen Company and Ford’s Premier Automotive Group (Land Rover, Jaguar, Volvo).
Appointed twice to the FCC’s Advisory Committee, Alonzo chaired two subcommittees and was the first Latina Chairwoman of the National Association for Multi-Ethnicity in Communications (NAMIC). She served 12 years on the Girl Scouts USA National Board and 13 years as Co-Chair of The Nielsen Media Company Advisory Council. She is currently a St. John’s University Board of Governors member.
Her accolades include the Wonder Woman Award, PROMAX, and Latinas Destacada by El Diario La Prensa. She is a dedicated advocate for the handicapable community and supports the Young Adult Institute (YAI).
