Devin Powell

Devin Powell is a programmer, filmmaker and filmgoer. He grew up on the outskirts of Charlotte with farms neighboring his childhood home. After graduating from Dartmouth College, he picked up and moved to New York City for a change of pace.

 

He worked in various departments of film production, mainly grip and electric, while he simultaneously made short films and worked at African Film Festival, Inc. as a programmer. In this position, Devin reviews thousands of films, researches new and restored classics, liaises with artists, producers, and distributors, and coordinates year-round programs of cinema from the African diaspora.
