Welcome to the Made In Huntington Film & TV Festival. We invite you to explore our 36 selections ranging from a Public Service Announcement, animation, a silent film, bundles of short subjects and multiple feature length films.
On Thursday, our spotlight is on Huntington itself, and we open the festival with a special “meet the filmmaker” program featuring some of our festival’s filmmakers. Thursday also offers a selection of documentaries including one session of short programs plus a feature length program.
Friday is perfect for lovers of quirky humor, art, music, and romance.
Saturday is for those who love drama.
And Sunday features more humor and closes the festival with a feature length documentary starring celebrities and skateboarders, who share their perspective on humanity. This closing program also includes another ”Meet the Filmmaker” moderated session with cast members from the closing documentary.

Screening Day 1 PODS
1:30pm Festival Opening Program: "Making it In Huntington"
Enjoy a moderated fireside chat with some of the filmmakers whose works are featured in the festival. Hear how they produced their projects and learn more on how to make your next production in Huntington.
This session is the only session that is FREE and open to the public.
2:30pm Feature Program: "Our Town"
"Our Town" - Filmmaker: Kathy LaForgia
A retelling of the history of the Town of Huntington.
5:00pm Short Program - Documentaries
"Jewce, Jewish comics" - Filmmaker: Tony Kim
This captivating short documentary uncovers the real-life origin story of comic books and superheroes, created by pioneering Jewish Americans from World War II to the present day, as colorful and thrilling as the comics themselves.
"What Will You Do" - Filmmaker: Carl Coulanges
This short sports documentary highlights the 2024 season of the Calhoun Varsity Football Team located in Merrick, New York.
"Northport Beatnik" - Filmmaker: Aidan Lily Athanasio
A look into the history of Northport and one of its most notable residents: Jack Kerouac.
"The Garbage Man: A Life Worth Living." -Filmmaker: Richard Poggioli
The Garbage Man: A Life Worth Living. The story of a Long Island garbageman who overcame accusations due to his Italian heritage and ties to the waste management business to become a beacon of hope for children.
7:30pm Feature Program: "Undocumented"
"Undocumented" - Filmmaker: Patricia Shih
No matter where you stand on the hot button topic of immigration, this true story -- of one man’s journey from the world’s most dangerous city to where he is today at the top of his profession -- will not fail to touch your heart on the most human level.

"It's About Friggin Time"- Filmmaker: Chris Raffaele
He's finally getting married at 50. With the clocks ready to spring ahead, four middle-aged men go out for a night on the town with a mission to win back the hour and beat time. Chasing sixty minutes proves to be hysterically enlightening.

"Love and Near Death"- Filmmaker: Jay Stern
When a thwarted romantic has a near-death experience, she encounters her soulmate in the afterlife.
"Inspiration" - Filmmaker: Ryan Bemben
A student distracted by a ring that is not his own seeks answers outside his bleak dorm.
"Story of the Sun"- Filmmaker: Philip Gladkov
"Story of the Sun" is the first stop-motion animation in the world made entirely from birch bark. It shares the tale of how the first humans discovered fire, changing the world forever. It's especially meaningful that this film is made from birch bark—a material used for starting fires since the Neanderthal era.
"Notes On A Page" - Filmmaker: Jennifer A. Uihlein
A middle-aged mother navigates life’s challenges, coming to a powerful realization: the noise that told her she wasn't good enough was wrong, fueling her through an exercise in finding her voice - a testament to the resilience of the human spirit and the importance of self-belief.
"Bog Doc" - Filmmaker: Emilio Cuesta
The Bog Doc is a mini documentary that illustrates the unique and touching story of Legendary NYC rock band, "The Bogmen". Featuring Billy Campion, Brendan Ryan, and Billy Ryan. The story was shot and takes place in Huntington, NY for the most part.
"Suaka Cleaning Disaster" - Filmmaker: Mars Black
A man is chased down by two anonymous masked people. Based on a true story.
5:00pm Shorts Program: Humor
"Who Killed the Coach" - Filmmaker: Laura Sweeney
A suburban woman finds a dead body in the trunk of her car and must prioritize telling the authorities with her upcoming vacation.
"Final Straw" - Filmmaker: Alex Smithline
A detained shop lifter must choose between saving the store manager's life or escaping before the police arrive.
"My Better Self"- Filmmaker: Zachary Jumper
In a post-apocalyptic world, a man faces exile from his community unless he agrees to participate in a high-stakes experimental study.
"Cherry Pie" - Filmmaker: Pat Mulderrig
In an otherwise uneventful restaurant, tensions rise between Lana, a no-nonsense manager, and Marty, a laid-back bartender, over small grievances like misplaced guitar cords and stolen cherry pie. When a mysterious man stumbles in, dies, and reanimates as a zombie, their day takes a surreal turn. As the undead chaos spreads to an unsuspecting bystander, Lana and Marty must grapple with panic, guilt, and their own questionable choices in this darkly comedic tale.
"Baboon"- Filmmaker: Steven Matty
Ned Callahan has worked diligently to be successful in life and make his wife proud. But it's what lives in the apartment above him that will ultimately determine his fate.
"Kreaster" - Filmmaker: Jacob Cooney
After an unknown entity causes the entire population of a small town to disappear, a military officer and civilian scientist are tasked to interview the town's lone survivor.
"Jack in, Home Invasion" - Filmmaker: Jack Sullivan
A light-hearted silent film that borrows some antics from “Home Alone”
"Too Late with Andrew Badami". - Filmmakers: Andrew Badami & Tyler Heydon
This student project is a humorous well-done “take” on a late night talk show, with silly conversations and interesting guests.
7:30pm Feature Program: "Death's a Bitch"
"Death's a Bitch" - Filmmaker: Stephen Lanza
Death’s a Bitch is a story of Jimmy, a man in NYC who is so afraid of everything that he’s never even left the city. After meeting Deanna, who hits him with her car, the two fall in love. This unique blend of Romantic Comedy with a Horror Twist and a cast full of hilarious characters, has been praised as “one of the most fun movies I’ve ever seen”. It’s an experience you must have.

A dramatic true story of courage for two unlikely and unsung heroes of the 9-11 tragedy in NYC.

"Mr. Danby’s Son" - Filmmaker: Robert Sean Miller
A son is forgiven indiscretions and welcomed back to the family by his father, who is then murdered. The pastor planning the funeral discovers the father's forgiveness is greater- and more chilling- than anyone had thought.
"Make Room" - Filmmaker: Skya Theobald
Story of two teenage girls who must deal with sharing a bedroom when they suddenly become stepsisters.
“Silverstreak” - Filmmaker: Jordan Scott Curiale
“Silverstreak” is a gripping drama that follows Marcus Johnson, a former fighting champion whose career comes to a devastating end after suffering a traumatic brain injury. Struggling to find a new purpose outside the ring, Marcus must confront his demons, saves his family, and rediscover his true identity as he embarks on a journey of self redemption.
"Forensic transport"- Filmmaker: Eric Richardson-Hagans
When a wealthy criminal dealings in mortgage, banking and credit card fraud abruptly end, so does his happy marriage and his way of living. 35 year old Bobby Faith is forced to get a (legitimate) job with decent benefits to pay spousal and child support. He soon realizes that the dead body business is much more lucrative than he could ever imagine. His working relationship develops intimate relationships with law enforcement and coroner's office personnel, giving him ultimate discretionary power.
"Chasing the Dragon" - Filmmaker: Craig Jordan
Los Angeles, 1994. Chad LaRocca (Jordan) and Shane Starks (B.J. Minor) are close friends and promising young actors with major aspirations. But the nightmare rabbit hole of addiction and other predatory dangers threatens to swallow them whole. What do you do when you run out of options?

"Any You Are...?" is the most unlikely of buddy films: Lynn, a grandmother suffering from Alzheimer's only has the past to prove she exists. Her grandson Max, desperately wants to erase his past as it never proved his true existence.
"Pilea"- Filmmaker: David Jurmann
Judy struggles to keep her feelings for her best friend, Olivia, and her parents' imploding divorce to herself. She's having nightmares, withdrawing from her life, and is completely lost. It all comes to a head when Olivia unexpectedly shows ups at Judy's house to work on a school biology project.
"Across" - Filmmaker: Laura Sweeney
An Historical Drama set in 1949 New York. Three young American World War II widows take a day trip to celebrate the younger sister's bittersweet engagement, when a corrosive and dangerous secret from the past emerges.
"Perpetual" - Filmmaker: John Martin & Sally Edelstein
While battling against decades of depression and a recent loss, artist Sally Edelstein finds the perpetual care she was seeking when she visits her Jewish family's cemetery
"Periwinkle" - Filmmaker: Jada Smith
Periwinkle is a student short film written and directed by Jada Smith. It tells the story of Perri, who, after learning about a chance to become general manager, must decide if she wants to compromise her morals or find comfort within a group of women hiding from the law.
7:30pm Feature Program: "Ebenezer, The Traveler."
"Ebenezer, The Traveler" - Filmmaker: Joe Valenti
What comes after the happy ending for Ebenezer Scrooge? The day after Christmas finds him much less merry, and... dead. Reunited with his old partner Jacob Marley, Scrooge is tasked with earning their redemption.

Featuring world-famous skateboarders, scientists, artists, musicians, activists and educators, all of whom are skateboarders. The iconic cast, respected as leaders in their fields, reveal their unique experiences and insights on being human.
